Lowering Costs and Restoring Fairness for Florida Families

Floridians are feeling the pressure every day. Rent is rising, homeowner insurance costs are out of control, and too many families are wondering how much longer they can afford to stay in their homes.
This is not sustainable—and it’s not acceptable.
That’s why I am working on legislation focused on one clear goal: lowering housing costs, bringing down homeowner insurance costs, and restoring fairness for Florida families.
My approach is straightforward.
First, we must provide immediate relief to families who are struggling right now. People should not be pushed out of their homes while we debate long-term solutions.
Second, we need accountability. When systems are not transparent, and when costs rise without clear justification, families pay the price. That must change.
Third, we must increase access to housing. Florida needs more housing that working families can actually afford—not just for some, but for everyone who calls this state home.
And finally, we must ensure the system is fair and transparent. No one should be blocked from housing opportunities because of unclear rules, hidden processes, or unequal treatment.
This is about common sense.
If you work hard, you should be able to afford to live here.If systems are driving up costs, they should be examined. If housing is being delayed or limited, we should fix it.
Florida families deserve a system that works for them—not against them.
More details will be shared soon, but one thing is clear:we can take action, and we will.
